Frequently Asked Questions About When to Use the ER
You should call your doctor whenever you need medical care—even if his or her office is closed. Your doctor is never too busy to talk to you. You may be asked to leave a message with your doctor’s answering service, and your doctor will call you back—usually within 30 minutes.
It is very important for you or someone in your family to call your doctor within 24 hours of any Emergency Room or Urgent Care Center visit. This way, your doctor is informed of your condition and can plan for any follow-up care that you might need. Your doctor must be kept informed of all of your medical care, including immunizations such as flu vaccines, and any urgent care that you have received.
You can call AppleCare Customer Service at (323) 604-9668, Monday–Friday, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. We will help you make a decision regarding Urgent Care services and how to get immediate help from your health plan’s nurse advice line. Also, by making at least annual check-up appointments and keeping your doctor informed of all your healthcare needs, your doctor can be more attentive to your overall health and continue to coordinate every part of your healthcare needs.
